Continuing a family tradition
Gill and Maurice Northen set up the campsite in the early nineties after being approached by some air show enthusiasts asking if they could pitch a tent in one of the farm’s fields. Kempsford Camping quickly grew into one of the most popular campsites for the Air Tattoo. Gill, together with a family friend St John Foy, continued to build the business and successfully run it over the next decade. In the summer of 2004, due to a Northen family bereavement, Clive and Catherine Elliott took over the business and with their events expertise they continued to grow and develop Kempsford Camping into the popular campsite it is today.
In 2018 Gill’s son, Adam and his wife Jo decided to bring the management of the campsite back into the family. They are looking forward to continuing to offer camping in this prime location for RIAT from 2020.
